OPPORTUNITY SNAPSHOT

We have a direct hire, full time, permanent opening for a Heavy Assembler in our Delavan Valve Focus Factory. This is an opportunity to work 3rd shift, 11pm-7am. Please make note, training will be during 1st shift and could last 5 months. After training, you can expect to start on 3rd. This is an opportunity to work 3rd shift, 11pm-7am. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Heavy Assembler will perform all assembly/material handling operations necessary to coordinate, assemble and test all valves according to the work order, assembly drawings and sales order instructions. Primary responsibility will be to assemble valve, strainers and manual valves per bill of materials and route cards.

Additionally, you will:

* Test valves hydrostatically with air, water and electrical hook-ups.

* Enters part order number on numerical pad of the CRT keyboard on the carousel to initiate the location of parts needed for assembly of valves.

* Package valves for shipment using foam packer and ensuring all serial number and other forms of identification are in place.

* Read and interpret basic manufacturing mechanical blueprints and wiring schematics to understand any special instructions on route cards or operator work instructions related to customer orders.

* Complete material handling duties which include picking and putting away parts in proper location.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

The ideal candidate will have the ability to use precision measuring instruments including veneer calipers and a micrometer to check part dimensions. Must be able to process instructions and accurately enter data on a CRT keyboard. Also important to is the ability to understand basic manufacturing mechanical blueprints and wiring schematics, and have shop math skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required:

* High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

* 2-4 years of machining experience
