Job Description:

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Medical Technologist II or Laboratory Section Charge Technologist develops and monitors test systems, and performs and interprets laboratory tests for the diagnosis and care of neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.POSITION REQUIREMENTS
REQUIRED:
1. All applicants shall meet at least one (1) of the following education/experience requirements: a. Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science or medical technology from an accredited institution, plus three (3) years experience in a clinical laboratory, OR b. Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science or medical technology from an accredited institution, plus successful completion of a specialist certification exam (SH ASCP, SBB ASCP, SM-ASCP, SC-ASCP, SI-ASCP or DLM ASCP) with a total of three (3) years experience in a clinical laboratory, OR c. Master's degree in administration, management, medical technology, chemical, physical, or biological science, plus three (3) years experience in a clinical laboratory.
2. Have state recognized certification as a Medical Technologist.
3. Applicants must demonstrate skills as described in the promotion path guidelines. 4. Ability to implement and perform clinical laboratory procedures according to proper standards and regulations.
5. Color vision acuity is required to safely perform the duties of this position.
6. All applicants must submit to and pass a Color-Acuity screening Test.

PREFERRED:
1. Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
