Job Description:

We have an opportunity for a Quality & Compliance Specialist to assist the department of Pathology at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The Specialist under the direction of the Quality Program or Compliance & Education Manager will supporting the Pathology Quality Program including compliance associated activities. He/she will coordinates all aspects of the Quality and Compliance programs including training and coaching employees on quality and compliance related issues, performs data analysis and facilitation of change management throughout the department. In addition, this person will develop and perform quality and compliance audits based on regulatory and accreditation agency requirements as well as internal requirements, and provides results to the Pathology Administrative team.

* Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent (in accordance with current Federal and State regulations) is required

* Employee must meet the qualifications as defined in CLIA requirements 42 CFR Part 493 for one or more of the following roles based on education, experience and responsibilities, performed by specific incumbent, within the job: Technical Consultant, Technical Supervisor, General Supervisor and/or Testing personnel. Department will designate and maintain records for individual specific qualifications.

* Seven (7) years of experience as a Medical Technologist required

* Two (2) years of experience with quality improvement preferred

* Experience with FDA and FACT accreditation requirements preferred.

* Tennessee licensure: Medical Technologist as a Generalist or Specialist in assigned laboratory section and a Tennessee Supervisor's license required within 1 year of assuming position. Eligibility requirements will be in compliance with current State of Tennessee Division of Health Related Boards

* Certification by the ASCP or AMT as a Medical Technologist preferred.

* Certification by the American Society for Quality (ASQ) as a Quality Improvement Associate, Quality Auditor, Lean Six Sigma yellow or green belt must be obtained within 12 months of hire date preferred.
