Responsibilities

NV5 is seeking an energetic and proactive full-time Structures (Bridges) Assistant Engineer for our Cary, NC office. This individual will provide engineering design, calculations, plan production and project assistance for the structures design group. The most frequent and essential work activities include:
Complete structure design and plans under the direct supervision of a professional engineer.
- Use Leap bridge design software, MicroStation and GeoPak software.
- Assist group in achieving the yearly business plan goals.
- Other special assignments as directed.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
- EI certification
- 0-3 years of previous bridge design or other transportation related work experience
- Knowledge of Leap, MicroStation and GeoPak software preferred
- Basic Excel and Microsoft Word skills
- Valid Driver's License

- Work will primarily be in the office setting with limited opportunities to be exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
- Work will be primarily working with fingers by picking, pinching, typing and grasping often with repetitive motion.
- Must have visual acuity for viewing a computer screen, the ability to talk, hear and sit for extended periods of time.Must be able to carry, lift and push/pull up to 20 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Weekend and overtime work and/or overnight work and travel may be required. Additional physical duties may be required as necessary.
