Description
POSITION PURPOSE:
- This is a 12 hour rotating shift, working 6 pm - 6 am, on a 2-2-3 schedule.
- Proactively maintains production equipment and a facilities for maximum availability.
- Responds to unscheduled downtime calls as required and makes required repairs to provide maximum availability.
- Works on trials and special projects, including capital projects as requested.
- Assists / mentors operators to increase effectiveness and uptime.
- Always works safely in a team environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:
- Maintains machines proactively to support plant / department goals for productivity, waste, quality, and safety
- Assures guarding, facilities and equipment are in good working order
- Sets up and operates machine and performs necessary duties to meet manufacturing and quality targets at a minimum after repairs are completed
- Detects, records and reports defective equipment to the Shift Manager and the Maintenance planner
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, sanitary and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations
- Must be familiar with basic machine functions in order to perform the tasks stated above
- Must be willing to accept and receive frequent supervision and assistance with regard to machine maintenance work functions
- Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required per instruction
- Fills in running machines when necessary.

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS:
- Meet or exceed Quality, Safety, and Productivity goals set for the plant
- Timely and accurate completion of downtime reports and work orders
- Effective verbal and written communication with supporting departments
- Managing line needs based on priority and effectively working with all departments
REQUIREMENTS:
UALIFICATIONS EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Vocational training preferred
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
- Basic computer knowledge
- Working knowledge of the requirements of OSHA with respect to machine guarding and other maintenance-related topics
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- 5 years industrial maintenance experience required
- Industrial Electrical experience required
- Experience with automated production equipment preferred
- Experience in a Consumer Products environment preferred
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Good communication skills
- Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a high-volume work environment
- Willing to work with and train operators in the cleaning, inspection, and lubrication of equipment as it relates to total productive manufacturing
- Weekend work required
