The candidate should anticipate client travel as needed, at times up to 4-5 days/week, and reside or willing to relocate to the greater Boston area
The director is expected to bring exceptionally deep expertise in 1-2 primary products/capabilities, while proactively taking responsibility for outcomes of wider client engagement. Directors on our teams are role-model citizens, building our team and business in many critical ways. The Director is seen as an invaluable member of client teams, helping to move at a pace that is required by the business needs. The Director must objectively solve for each situation while earning client trust without turf issues – in many cases including CMO’s, CFO’s, CEO and equity sponsors.
Responsibilities:
AD/Director Functional Lead – Digital Marketing, DTC and E-Commerce
Lead Practice thinking and intellectual capital in areas of Digital marketing and e-Commerce strategies, tactics, processes and tools
Develop and apply frameworks for assessing client capabilities, identifying / quantifying opportunities and implementing / capturing benefits
Manage project teams, occasional multiple teams, in conducting analysis, developing insights and recommendations and documenting and present findings to clients
Bring deep functional expertise and knowledge to bear for client pursuits and project delivery, in several key areas:
Digital marketing strategies and media mix
Marketing Analytics and Effectiveness
Customer Relationship Management and Engagement
Customer Journey
Current / cutting edge technologies to support the digital
Promotional effectiveness and pricing (preferred)
As AD/Director in BRG Corporate Finance – Retail Performance Improvement Practice
Reporting, analytics, insights: Lead strategy and provide executional review of most complex clients, with accurate data analysis and related strong value-generating insights
Budget-optimization: Coach/train others to plan, deliver daily/weekly optimizations with test and learn focus, build innovative testing/learning capabilities
Vendors: Strong understanding of current vendor capabilities, and which solutions best match client needs
Media strategy: Ability to derive novel media strategies given unique client contexts in light of channel, solving some of the most complex marketing problems
Team dynamics: positively contribute into most complex team situations, with ability to work across 2+ cases at a time
Ownership: Proactively take responsibility for outcomes and impact. Owning / driving work streams and working to drive biggest impacts with least effort or investment
Growth / Learning: Contribute expertise to high profile events, participate in IP development, contribute to sharing and teaching of others
Example-setting: demonstrate behavior across team, taking on extras (recruiting, etc), establishing team-wide tone of optimization through change-uncertainty
Client Deliverables: generates ongoing demand for expertise through client work and proposal support for current or future clients
Client Engagement: Act as primary driver of internal training, demonstrate ability to be the primary owner / driver of client development efforts engaging with positivity and professionalism
Required Skills:
8-10 years of relevant Ecommerce experience – Prefer majority in a consulting environment, with some line management experience
Exceptionally deep expertise in Ecommerce – Including display, marketing ROI, search, social, media mix, segmentation, personalization, other
Experience with Amazon, as well as other Ecommerce platforms (leading retailers), and relevant Ecommerce success concepts
Up-to-date fluency and comfort monitoring evolving online media and technology trends as well as competitive activity with the aim of driving best practice adoption in digital experience and Ecommerce – This includes the exploration of new and effective products or enhancements that will improve site experiences, digital marketing efforts and enhance consumer engagement
Experience in working with / managing external agencies
Deep understanding of both multi-touch attribution and A/B testing models and how to optimize channels for best results. Experience building/acquiring, structuring and leveraging data sets
Knowledge of and comfort with a variety of online tools, inclusive of marketing automation platforms, content management systems, CRM and web analytics
Thorough understanding of marketing technology (tools and technology) including analytic packages, search platforms and data onboarding solutions
Professional and positive approach, self-motivated, team player, dynamic and creative with ability to work on own initiative
Experience using data as a strategic choice for the business to identify and use cases and fill gaps in data, processes and systems to realize the value
Strong understanding of retail math and ability to identify and quantify initiatives with benefits that align to the P&L
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to use storytelling to influence decisions
