JOB PURPOSE AND IMPACT The Sourcing Specialist will perform activities that ensure efficient transportation of materials and products from origin to destination. We seek a professional who will participate in Identifying and selecting most appropriate and cost-effective transportation. This position will manage the day to day business relationship with key transportation technology providers. The position will measure and drive continuous improvement of key metrics in technology adoption. This role is responsible for advancing best practices in e-sourcing technology.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Manage supply chain visibility programs. Drive increased internal utilization and external compliance of available tools. Will work with providers to understand their future capability roadmap.
Negotiate rates with carriers and run one-off bid events in e-sourcing tool.
Apply a general understanding of transportation and logistics practices and procedures to assist in negotiating freight prices and contract terms for customers,
Update transportation websites and databases for contracts, freight rates and estimates, insurance information, customer information, etc.
Independently analyze current transportation operations practices to resolve process and cost improvement opportunities.
You will work under general supervision and independently solve moderately complex issues while referring more complex problems to a higher-level staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree preferably in business, transportation, supply chain or a related field.
Minimum of two years of working experience of the fundamentals in transportation, logistics, operations or supply chain management.
Advanced Microsoft Excel expertise.
Experience with sourcing events OR sourcing optimization software
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with supply chain visibility tools and software, e-sourcing tools, supply chain optimization software
Functional knowledge of technology and ERP systems, including Transportation Management System (TMS)
Five years of experience in the areas of transportation, logistics, operations, SCM, preferably in the truck mode
Knowledge creating and leading large-scale sourcing events using procurement/optimization software
Demonstrated project management skills
Financial modeling skills
Functional knowledge of technology and ERP systems, including Transportation Management System (TMS).
Experience implementing process, systems, and organizational changes.
