Summary

The Health Plan Analytics (HPA) Affordability Goals and Outcomes (AGO) team drives affordability strategies and measurement of our solutions. This individual will be responsible for helping to drive Cigna's affordability and competitive positioning strategies through analytics and process re-engineering.

This position will be support setting affordability goals, related strategies, improving relevant processes, and tracking/analyzing the competitive positions.

Responsibilities

Re-engineer and Advance Affordability Framework and Analytics: Works closely with Local Health Plan Affordability Planning & Execution team to implement targets, implement disciplined framework, and monitor performance & their drivers.

• Help define affordability strategies and targets through analytics leveraging multitude of data elements and technology solutions
  
  


• Re-engineer affordability planning and execution process to streamline and help implement a disciplined framework
  
  


• Advance analytics to fine tune strategic targets of markets, providers, and services to supercharge our growth goals. Explore innovative analytic/data solutions to provide competitively differentiated insights to our local markets
  
  


• Build and drive analytics to monitor affordability performance and their drivers
  
  


• Balance strategic solutions for advanced affordability framework and analytics by coordinating with Contracting Enablement team
  
  

Qualifications

This position requires healthcare and insurance content knowledge, analytics/data science expertise, and contract underwriting and/or actuarial expertise.

• 4+ years of direct experience in contract (healthcare provider) underwriting or medical economics
  
  


• 5+ years' work experience in healthcare insurance or healthcare consulting
  
  


• Strong technical skills including advanced Excel, querying language (SQL/SAS). Other programming experience to demonstrate technical strength (Python/R) would be preferred
  
  


• Experience with Teradata and Hadoop and output through advanced visualization tools including, but not limited to Tableau
  
  


• Strong Healthcare data knowledge and hands on experience (medical claims data, clinical data, pharmacy data and eligibility data)
  
  


• Subject matter expert in healthcare cost components based on various contracting types (DRG, per diem, discount, professional fee schedules, etc.)
  
  


• Experience working with consultant/broker and subject matter expertise on payer benchmarking highly desired
  
  


• Experience/subject matter expertise on Value Based Payment programs (ACO, bundles, episodes, etc.) and related analytics desired (episodes such as ETG and Prometheus and quality measures such as HEDIS and PQRS)
  
  


• Ability to successfully navigate and contribute in a highly-matrixed environment
  
  


• Go Getter who enjoys problem solving and creating innovative solutions and visions working with various business stakeholders
  
  


• Strong verbal/written communication and leadership skills to work with various matrix partners
