Data Warehouse Architect at SBA Communications in Boca Raton, Florida

Job Description:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Design, implement, and support SBA’s internal Data Warehouse reporting systems using Microsoft SQL and Microsoft Azure data technologies.

  • Design, code, and implement complex business reporting within TSQL using Power BI with OLAP, DAX, MDX, and Stored Procedures, views, functions where applicable.

  • Write, maintain, and perform ETL’s using SSIS and Azure Data Factory for production and test environments.

  • Determines data warehouse structural requirements by analyzing client operations, applications, and programming, reviewing objectives with clients, evaluating current systems.

  • Handle multiple simultaneous adhoc requests from users and prioritize based on business need in a fast paced, challenging environment.

  • Maintains Data Warehouse performance by identifying and resolving production and application development problems; calculating optimum values for parameters; evaluating, integrating, and installing new releases; completing maintenance; answering user questions.

  • Develops database solutions by designing proposed system, defining database physical structure (relational and star schema) and functional capabilities, security, backup, and recovery specifications.

  • Responsible for making improvement recommendations to the Manager of Database Systems and Director, ERP Development concerning changes in business process, internal department process, software development tools.

  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

  • Experience using and responding to events from SQL monitoring software such as Confio Ignite and Microsoft Systems center.

  • Knowledgeable in Application Lifecycle Management. Test to Production deployment.

  • Provide support to the development staff optimizing stored procedures and Transact-SQL.

  • Deliver excellent service through actively learning the Company’s business, responding to the needs of the internal customer, and following through on commitments.

  • Ensures complete issue tracking and reporting is accomplished.

  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science/Engineering or related field, applicable industry certifications expected.

  • 10+ years relevant experience with MS SQL Server in a Data Warehouse / Reporting role – including extensive experience with Data Warehouse techniques. OLAP, MDX, DAX, T-SQL and coding triggers and stored procedures.

  • Microsoft Data Scientist and/or Microsoft Azure Data Engineer certifications expected.

  • Functional experience as a data scientist working with big data distributed across the enterprise.

  • Mastery of Microsoft Azure data technologies and data movement in and out of the cloud.

  • Experience with implementation and tuning of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

  • Extensive experience with development and deployment of interactive Microsoft Power BI reports leveraging multiple data sources.

  • Expertise in designing, implementing and optimizing big data architecture using the Microsoft data stack with multiple internal and external data sources.

  • Previous experience working in a large financial and accounting environment.

  • Experience with SQL clustering in a SAN environment.

  • Current technical expertise in Microsoft SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, and Azure AI.

  • Microsoft Dynamics, Microsoft CRM, and Microsoft Sharepoint experience preferred.

  • Oracle OBIEE and Hyperion Essbase experience a plus.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and advanced proficiency working with Microsoft Office 365 Suite software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook.


Language Skills:


  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents.

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills.


Mathematical Skills:



  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area and volume.


 

Reasoning Ability:



  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.


 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:



  • MCDBA certification preferred.
