SENIOR ACTUARIAL ANALYST - PRODUCT DESIGN

Pacific Life is looking to invest in bright, agile new talent to ensure we continue to innovate and strengthen relationships with our policyholders. It s in this spirit that we are currently looking to add a credentialed actuary to join our Institutional Product Division.

As an actuary on the Institutional Product Division Valuation & Projections team, you will play a key role in Pacific Life s growth and long-term success. You will be working on Statutory, GAAP, and Tax valuation for Pension Risk Transfer (PRT), Stable Value and Spread Lending. You will also be involved in running projections for business Plan, RBC, and Cash Flow Testing.

How You ll Contribute

* Production of quarterly financial information on statutory, GAAP, and tax reserves for Pension Risk Transfer (PRT), Stable Value and Spread Lending

Assist in the construction and maintenance of valuation databases and preparation of data for business analytics and ad hoc requests
*
Analyze valuation results, including attribution analysis and actual-to-plan comparisons
*
Compiling responses to requests from State Department of Insurance, auditors, regulators, rating agencies, and other interested parties
*
Support in running projection models for RBC, Loss Recognition Testing (LRT), Business Plan and Asset Adequacy Analysis
*
Implementation of data controls and system improvements related to the valuation processes
*
Support for Model Risk Management initiatives, including documentation, peer review exercises, and other best practices guidelines * Interaction with other functional departments as needed

Factors for Success

* Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Actuarial Science, Statistics, or related degree

*
2+ years of experience with at least two SOA exams toward the ASA designation; position is eligible for Actuarial Student Program
*
Working knowledge of payout annuity products and financial statements
*
Advanced Excel, related programming (R, Python), and database skills a plus
*
Ability to deliver timely, organized and consistent results
*
Strong communication and interpersonal skills * Experience with financial modeling systems, particularly Prophet and PolySystem, preferred
