In support of these programs, MIT-LL has developed a state-of-the-art, in-house diamond foundry, which includes microwave chemical vapor deposition reactors, dedicated diamond processing equipment, and rapid characterization. Current primary tasks handled by the diamond foundry are

* Diamonds tailored for quantum information science, optimizing quantum defect centers and their spin bath environment

* Surface optimization for the creation of diamond electronics

The Lincoln Laboratory Diamond Foundry (LLDF) seeks a diamond process specialist. A successful candidate will be responsible for co-leading diamond development including directing, developing, and maintaining diamond growth capability. Central responsibilities will include

* State-of-the-art diamond growth

* Hardware and software modifications to diamond reactors as needed to achieve desired diamond properties and growth capabilities

* Working with technical staff to understand diamond program needs

* Interfacing with characterization team for rapid-cycle feedback

* Assessing LLDF capabilities

In addition, to a passion for materials science and diamond engineering, a successful candidate must be able to demonstrate flexibility in responding to a rapidly moving environment, balancing priorities across multiple projects.
