The RCP will function and be trained and/or cross-trained in Inpatient, Emergencey Department, EEG, and NCV. The Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP), functioning under medical direction, prescription, clinical pathway and/or protocol is responsible for establishing and achieving therapeutic goals, in the care of patients with cardiopulmonary, neurological or other organ system dysfunctions. This is accomplished through participation in formulating a patient care plan, through the appropriate collection of data, performing a clinical assessment, diagnostic measurements and/or tests, applying therapeutic interventions, and making recommendations to other health team members.

Work Location: HCGH Respiratory Therapy

Graduate of an approved Respiratory Care Practitioner program. Associates degree required; BS/BA degree is desirable. Current active license from the State of Maryland Physician Board Quality Assurance (MPBQA). Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC). Must maintain current CPR. Definitions of the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) are as follows: CRT-Certified Respiratory Therapist; RRT-Registered Respiratory Therapist (Advanced Practitioner).
