Demonstrate competence of duties and responsibilities related to the cleaning and maintenance functions per departmental protocol. Demonstrates competence in the performance of duties and responsibilities related to department competencies. Demonstrates competence in the cleaning of the C-Section room between cases and terminal clean. Demonstrates competence in the performance of duties and responsibilities related to departmental compliance.

1. Proficient in the performance of duties and responsibilities related to the cleaning and maintenance functions as per departmental protocols.
a. Is aware of and follows all departmental policies, procedures and protocols
b. Cleans, disinfects and maintains assigned patient care areas in a clean, hygienic and attractive condition
c. Cleans, disinfects and maintains assigned areas i.e.: Treatment and Examination Rooms in a clean, hygienic and attractive condition as per departmental protocols.
d. Cleans, disinfects and maintains all assigned areas i.e.: ancillary, office, visitor, and staff areas in a clean, hygienic and attractive condition,, complying with room lay out and unit preference
e. Participates in the general cleaning, linen room duties, waste and soiled linen removal, and project functions as per departmental protocols.
f. Maintains EVS closet, cart, supplies and equipment used in performance of assigned tasks in a neat, clean and organized manner. Maintains an adequate supply of mops, cloths, chemicals, paper products, bags and liners, etc., at the end of shift.
g. Reports unsafe, damaged or broken equipment or surroundings to Manager/Supervisor or directly to Plant Operations
h. Adheres to the strict Infection Control Guidelines and Standards as it pertains to the Operating Room, C-Section Room and Cath Lab
i. Cleans and disinfects sterile area around table, equipment, work tables, rolling equipment and empties trash
j. Performs special projects including buffing, burnishing, stripping and refinishing floors as required. Performs special projects including, vacuuming, spotting and extraction of carpets as required.

2. Proficient in the performance of duties and responsibilities related to departmental protocols
. Demonstrates competence in the performance of Discharge Cleaning and Discharge Cleaning - Isolation Room and adheres to standards on ongoing bases.
a. Proficient in the performance of the tasks of Discharge Cleaning Labor & Delivery, Cleaning and Disinfecting the Incubator Whirlpool, Birthing Tub and adheres to standards on ongoing bases. .
b. Proficient in the performance of Clean Linen Distribution and adheres to standards on ongoing bases.
c. Demonstrates competence in the performance for the handling of regulated medical waste, hazardous waste and general waste and adheres to standards on ongoing bases. .
d. Proficient in the performance of Soiled Linen Handling and adheres to standards on ongoing bases.
e. Proficient in the performance of the tasks of Bailing Operations, Tie-Off and Bail ejection and adheres to standards on ongoing bases.
f. Demonstrates competence in the performance and expectations as a member of the EVS Spill Team and / or Radiation Response Decontamination Team and adheres to standards on ongoing bases.
g. Demonstrates competence in the performance of the C-Section and Cath Lab Turnovers and adheres to standards on ongoing bases.
h. Demonstrates competence in the performance of Surgical Suite terminal cleaning and adheres to standards on ongoing bases.
i. Proficient in the performance of Floor care (stripping and recoating) maintenance and adheres to standards on ongoing bases.
j. Proficient in the performance of carpet care (spotting and extraction) and adheres to standards on ongoing bases.
k. Proficient in the performance and use of all EVS equipment to include extractors, buffers, and ride on Chariot equipment and adheres to standards on ongoing bases.

EXPERIENCE MINIMUM REQUIRED
One year experience in a Healthcare EVS position

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED/DESIRED
Two years experience in a Hospital EVS Position

EDUCATION MINIMUM REQUIRED
High School diploma or equivalent or one year healthcare EVS experience.
Must be able to read, write, comprehend and understand English

TRAINING MINIMUM REQUIRED
To terminal clean of the C-Section room.
Knowledge and skill for cleaning and maintaining hard surface floors, carpets and upholstery.

TRAINING PREFERRED/DESIRED
He/She will have extensive knowledge and skill for cleaning and maintaining hard surface floors, carpets and upholstery.
