Medical Director, Gastroenterology at BioClinica in Princeton, New Jersey

Job Description:

We are looking for a self starter who has experience in building and growing a business with a minimum of five years experience in GI, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Clinical trials research experience preferred. Experience with research and publication.

Primary Responsibilities

Drives strategic market focus and helps obtain market share by:
- Participating in new business opportunities; communicating our medical and scientific expertise and capabilities
- Projecting to clients a strong medical/scientific understanding of and commitment to the industry, clinical trial success and internal processes
- Developing and maintaining the company's medical/scientific image
- Reviewing and supporting the marketing campaign; assisting in the development of literature and web design and writing
- Presenting at meetings, conferences as requested
- Assisting Business Development with forecasting projected business and establishing target market
- Keeping abreast of industry and clinical developments, technology and trends
- Generating and disseminating scientific data
- Keeping the teams informed of developments in the core business

Develops clinical trial design strategies and serves as medical/scientific expert to internal and external clients by:
- Providing consultative services to clients including interacting with both present and potential clients providing input on trial design, independent review methodology and design, and safety and legal issues related to image processing
- Providing medical, clinical and scientific advisory expertise to all departments as requested
- Developing Key Opinion Leader relationships
- Identifying external physicians and other experts to assist with image reading
- Identifying opportunities to work with academic institutions and scientific entities
- Attending and participating in industry conferences and meetings
- Assisting with the specification and design of software systems need to support therapeutic area services
- Assisting with the analysis, review and reporting of study data

Supports study activities and sustains rapport with key clients by:
- Making periodic visits
- Exploring specific needs and anticipating new opportunities
- Monitoring reader performance by assisting with design of monitoring strategies and reviewing results of data analysis
- Assist with the creation of imaging charters and related documents to support central reading activities
- Attend investigator meetings, client presentations and advisory meeting as Bioclinica's medical/scientific expert

Increases shareholder value by:
- Establishing functional objectives aligned with corporate mission
- Initiating, coordinating and enforcing new strategic initiatives
- Enhancing company's stability and reputation
- Measuring and ensuring profit and service driven outcomes
Secondary Responsibilities
Maintains Quality Service and Departmental Standards by:
- Reading, understanding and adhering to organizational Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- Establishing and enforcing departmental standards
- Reviewing and updating departmental SOPs

Contributes to team effort by:
- Working with internal staff to resolve issues
- Exploring new opportunities to add value to organization and departmental processes
- Helping others to accomplish results
- Performing other duties as assigned

Maintains professional and technical knowledge by:
- Attending and participating in applicable company-sponsored training

Qualifications:
Education:
- Medical degree required

Experience:
- Experience in research and/or core lab desired
