Health and Safety Specialist at EnSafe in Bowling Green, Kentucky

Job Description:

We are currently accepting applications for a Health and Safety Specialist/ Industrial Hygienist for our Bowling Green, KY office. We are looking for an individual that wants to make a difference by improving the health and safety of our customers and their employees.
Our ideal candidate will perform personal and area industrial hygiene surveys in various industries (e.g., aerospace, manufacturing, and pulp and paper); conduct indoor air quality surveys; perform risk assessments address process hazards; assess noise exposures; assess confined space, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and machine guarding programs; perform job safety analyses (JSAs); perform training on various OSHA topics, such as HAZCOM/GHS, powered industrial vehicles, lockout/tagout; and more. Familiarity of the following H&S areas is a plus: on-site safety inspections/audits, asbestos, indoor air quality, LOTO, machine guarding, confined spaces, JSA's, and construction safety.
We require a minimum of a BS in Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or similar with work experience in the field or a recent internship (prefer in a consulting environment), good written and verbal communication skills, and a strong work ethic. This preferred candidate would have or be expected to obtain asbestos accreditations to serve as building inspector and project monitor. This position requires attention to detail, analytical thinking, initiative, dependability, accountability, and commitment to quality and accuracy. This position includes local and domestic overnight travel, sometimes by air.
This position will work under the direction of Certified Safety Professionals and Certified Industrial Hygienists to gain valuable experience for the opportunity to obtain certification as a CSP and/or CIH in the future.
