A Day in the Life
Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, evaluates alternatives including cost and risk, supportability and analyses for total systems
Perform analyses at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal
Work with and provide technical leadership for other development engineers, lab technicians, and test engineers
Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (Mechanical, Electrical, Software, and Controls) as well other supporting functions such as Quality, Clinical, Regulatory, to develop, implement, and verify system solutions for life support ventilators
Evaluate product performance and reliability on an on-going basis. Initiate and evaluate design changes to the design to improve and optimize performance.
Participate in the collection, processing, and analysis of user needs. Responsible for translating, allocating, and decomposing to product/system requirements and subsystem requirements. Conduct investigation to uncover use case/condition to help define requirements appropriately.
Ensure adherence to product specifications, industry standards, and quality and regulatory procedures and requirements
Create innovative technical solutions which lead to the development and introduction of new technologies, products, and processes that support ongoing business objectives
Must Haves
Bachelor's Degree and 7+ years of Systems Engineering experience OR advanced degree and 5+ years of Systems Engineering experience
Nice to Have
Bachelor of Science degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
Systems engineering experience
Experience with developing, analyzing, diagnosing complex systems and optimizing performance or correcting issues
Experience leading a team of multi-discipline Engineers from Concept through Launch in a regulated industry
Ability to lead a product development effort with the capacity as both a system architect as well as a subsystem technical lead
Strong analytical skill and critical thinking
Experience with writing high quality requirements, constructing Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), developing transfer functions and modeling, error propagation, risk analysis, data analysis, reliability modeling and testing; and project management
Medical device experience, general product development process
Exhibit good organization skills, ability to distill complex design and projects to manageable elements, possess leadership skill to guide, motivate, challenge and mentor other engineers. Knowledgeable of basic statistics, hypothesis testing, gauge R&R, Design of Experiment, t-Test, etc.
Demonstrated experience developing complex systems and generating technical documentation such as design drawings, DFMEA, verification test procedures and test reports per FDA Quality System Requirements
