What you'll do on a typical day:


  • Establish a billing process through automation, EDI and reports, that ensures accurate invoices are sent on a timely basis

  • Spearhead the billing and First Invoice Accuracy (FIA) processes, including oversight and support for the service center-based freight bill data entry process

  • Oversee and manage forecasting & reporting that is grounded in key operational drivers

  • Synthesize large and complex datasets in order to establish clear insights, business themes & strategic recommendations

  • Lead vendor governance (KPI, Performance Benchmarking) minimizing value leakage, improving innovation and proactively identifying optimization opportunities for Billing Function

  • Define service level agreements and set standards for quality in accordance with the defined

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to conduct regular customer account reviews to resolve roadblocks and ensure cross functional alignment of priorities and processes in a matrixed environment

  • Champions collaboration across Global Shared Service teams

  • Drives strategy to set common goals and implement best practices across business units

  • Evaluate processes & controls; ensure the relevant risks are mitigated

  • Continuously conduct payer trend and customer billing analyst to improve operational excellence and customer experience

  • Deploy interim solutions for business-critical needs; must have ability to quickly assess unfamiliar situations and provide remediation, including modifying standard processes to address longer term issues

  • Maintain responsibility for the Data Process Center to create automation in customer invoicing


What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you'll need:


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience

  • 7 years of experience in Order to Cash, Accounting, Finance or Cash Applications with at least 5 years management experience.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, understanding and working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems


It'd be great if you also have:

  • 10 years related experience in a Shared Services environment

  • Strong background in process development and improvement

  • Customer contract auditing and accounts receivable experience

  • Experience handling a large volume of complex transactions


  • Transportation Invoicing and Freight Payment Department Leadership Experience

  • EDI Implementation and process experience
