Job Description:

The E.W. Scripps news station WGBA, in Green Bay, WI is currently hiring for a Photographer. This person will capture and edit visual content for multiple platforms and be responsible for operating various news gathering equipment, including but not limited to microwave live truck, video camera, and video editing equipment. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO:


  • Capture and edit visual content for multiple platforms, including internet and digital channels.


  • Work cooperatively with reporter assigned to a story and newsroom to develop and produce stories


  • Operate various news gathering equipment, including but not limited to microwave live truck, video camera, and video editing equipment


  • Drive the company vehicle or business purposes


  • Schedule will primarily work Monday-Friday 1:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.. Times may change as business needs change


  • Perform other duties as assigned


WHAT YOU’LL NEED:


  • College degree preferred, but will accept a high school diploma or equivalent experience re


  • 2+ years experience as a photographer


  • Valid driver's license and good driving record require. In addition, proof of insurance and liability coverage may be required.


WHAT YOU’LL BRING:


  • Proficiency with lighting and computer based editing.


  • Knowledge of and proficiency in posting content to station's web sites


  • Must have passion for entertainment, pop-culture and news


  • Experience with ENG/SNG trucks, and cellular bonded systems


  • Ability to capture visually creative video and gather news stories, either teamed up with a reporter or solo.


  • Non-linear editing skills. DaVinci Resolve experience preferred.


  • Advanced training in writing, video editing, video production, graphics, audio production, music editing, sound effects.


  • Knowledge and demonstration of creativity, editorial judgment, journalistic ethics and libel laws.


  • Able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, team-oriented environment. 


  • Proficiency with live microwave truck operation


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Able to lift up to 75 pounds.
