SCHEDULE: Full-time

UNIT ASSISTANT FULL TIME, DAY SHIFT, 0.9 FTE

Northwest Medical Center is a 289-bed medical center and healthcare complex, continuously expanding and incorporating the latest technology in the delivery of care. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Schedules patient testing/procedures/admissions

* Obtains pre-certification/authorization numbers and enters in the scheduling or registration system

* Obtains and enters accurate insurance information

* Answers incoming phone calls

* Completes and spool next day's schedule at designated time.

* Schedules appointments for patients according to established procedures.

* Maintains schedules and appointments for Departments to ensure efficient utilization of resources.

* Maintains a high level of accuracy when scheduling.

* Makes informed decisions so that potential time or procedural/surgical conflicts are minimized.

QUALIFICATIONS

* High school diploma or GED required

* Prior hospital scheduling experience required

* Strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills required

* Basic computer skills needed

* Able to work in a fast-paced environment
