KIVI, the Scripps ABC Station in Boise, Idaho is looking for an outstanding Morning Anchor/MMJ to join our team. In addition to anchoring the morning show, you will report in the field during the week. You will be responsible for researching, writing, capturing visual content and editing stories for multiple platforms.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:


  • Anchor morning newscasts and assume a leadership role in the newsroom.


  • Deliver the news in a smooth, conversational, approachable, yet authoritative tone.


  • Gather and verify factual information for stories through interviews, observation and research. 


  • Generate creative story ideas daily based on the station’s brand and strategic plan. 


  • Write, edit and organize stories for live reports, taped interviews or online.


  • Work cooperatively with photographer on assignment.


  • Edit video and posts stories on multimedia platforms.


  • Write story content and edit and review video in order to put stories together.


  • Anchor newscasts live in the field.


  • Engage viewers via social media on a daily basis.


  • Take part in station and independent community service events and activities.


WHAT YOU'LL NEED:


  • Bachelor's degree preferred.


  • Minimum of 2 years experience.


WHAT YOU'LL BRING:


  • Strong broadcast and digital writing skills. 


  • Proven ability to relate to the public and share information via social media.


  • Computer literate, including newsroom computer systems.


  • Videography and non-linear editing experience.


  • Edit video on various editing systems.


  • Proficient at posting content to various platforms.


  • Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment.


  • Employees work outdoors and may not be protected from weather conditions.


  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.


  • Valid driver's license and good driving record required. In addition, proof of insurance and liability coverage may be required.
