Job Description:

FTI is seeking a full time, highly qualified Senior Advisory Technical Product Support Engineer with experience in the defense industry for leading, coordinating, and delivering integrated systems using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles and digital engineering processes for NAVSEA 03R/05R. Analyze and decompose system requirements, develop/refine DoDAF systems architecture and SysML models, maintain design documentation and requirements traceability, and support highly complex technical issues. Collaborate daily with a geographically dispersed Government/Contractor development team and customers across multiple domains in a rapidly evolving, dynamic environment to include heavy interface with Senior DoD personnel and other systems engineers to define and interpret requirements, integrations and interfaces, bolster DOD acquisition lifecycle systems engineering principles and processes, and provide lifecycle management of the systems and subsystems.
- Analyzes and decomposes Top Level Requirements (TLRs) and derived requirements and identify impacts to both functional and nonfunctional requirements and/or design specifications
- Helps develop and ensure system requirements validation and verification methods are captured
- Develops and/or refines DoDAF systems architecture, SysML model, and other MBSE products
- Interacts with product development and quality assurance teams to give feedback, discuss design issues, investigate problems, and develop solutions to meet the technological needs of users
- Ensures robust application of industry, Lean-Agile, and DoD best practices and processes in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Systems Engineering, digital engineering, and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)
- Applies Systems Engineering concepts in support of the Digital Thread/Twin
- Demonstrates practical life-cycle systems engineering experience which includes stakeholder needs definition, system requirements definition and management; system architecture, analysis and design; integration, test, and verification; and system performance assessment
- Supports system specification updates and associated performance enhancements, as well as interface development/upgrade efforts
- Maintains design documentation and design traceability
- Maintains system design alignment with external programs of? record
- Identifies integration issues and system requirements discrepancies across multiple systems
- Collaborate with other engineering teams in planning, design, and development of systems to ensure software and hardware performance and compatibility
- Support development and review of engineering documentation (Systems Engineering Plan, CM Plan, Risk Opportunity Management Plan, System Test and Verification Plan, system/subsystem specification (SSS), interface control document (ICD), interface requirements specification (IRS), software architecture documents)
- Executes Systems Engineering-driven program roadmap that drives coordinated program capability development and deployment
- Identifies deviations from or adjustments to the program roadmap and works with stakeholders and customers to implement corrective actions as required to ensure project success
- Creates and presents project status reports to senior leadership that reflect contract, financial, resource, and execution status as well as risks, mitigations, and opportunities for improvement
- Supports a culture of continuous learning
- Supports execution of Navy Legacy system transition activities such as data migrations, data validation, and system testing
- Evaluates training, user acceptance test, and communication plan for introduction of new PLM functionalities
- Actively participates in Lean-Agile ceremonies and Agile Product Delivery process

- Active DoD Secret Clearance is required

- Bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 15+ years of relevant experience on programs/projects supporting the Department of Defense

- Proven experience utilizing model-based systems and digital engineering processes, principles, techniques, and procedures in the development of DODAF architectures for Naval systems

- Exceptional interpersonal, leadership and decision-making skills

- Understanding of Lean-Agile mindset, systems engineering and product and solution management principles

- Excellent analytical, project management, and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail

- Strong written and verbal communication skills to successfully lead and/or collaborate with internal and external customers

- In-depth knowledge / understanding of the DoDI 5000.01 and DODI 5000.02 and all corresponding requirements highly preferred

- Must be able to travel - up to 25%

DESIRED SKILLS:

- Knowledge of and ability with model-based systems engineering tools such as MagicDraw, Rhapsody, and/or other SysML modeling tools

- Experience with Lean-Agile DEVOPs a plus.
