The Equinix Gov’t Solutions National Security Group is looking for an experienced federal sales professional to join us as a Strategic Account Executive in either Northern Va or Maryland. In this role, you will handle both the prospecting (hunting) and existing relationships with Intelligence Community customers within the US Government.

You’ll help our customers and partners support their critical mission and IT transformation efforts by positioning our leading global infrastructure and interconnectivity services and solutions. You'll be responsible for building new strategic executive level relationships and expanding and improving the business we do with existing customers. As a Strategic Account Executive, you will also work to gain an understanding of customer mission, needs, and challenges, articulating the value of Equinix’s solutions and how they can address customer needs.

Responsibilities


  • Communicate Equinix values and visions to the executive and management levels of customer organizations


  • Successfully sell solutions and services in the field


  • Develop new account areas of focus within the assigned accounts


  • Represent Equinix to customers and customers to Equinix in sales-related matters


  • Meet assigned sales quotas


  • Work to develop and expand a fixed set of named accounts


  • Quarterback an account team consisting of solutions architects, insides sales representatives, consultants, engagement managers, and Equinix senior management


Qualifications


  • 7+ years of experience preferred, working in a federal sales account manager role is a plus


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or equivalent relevant years of experience


  • Significant knowledge of the U.S. Public Sector and the Intelligence Community in particular


  • Excellent record of working in networking, cloud, infrastructure, data center and/or  professional services solutions sales in the federal sector


  • Demonstrated experience selling complex solutions to large matrixed organizations and multiple decision makers


  • Demonstrated ability to sell through the partner channel


  • Ability to create a logical account strategy to grow and expand an existing account


  • Ability to work as part of a team while demonstrating flexibility, initiative, and the ability to work without direct supervision


  • Ability to take initiative and perform independent problem solving; be resourceful, prioritize, and organize daily activities


  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, demonstrated management and supervisory skills


  • Must be able to thrive in a high pressure, fast paced work environment with strict deadlines


  • Experience in the government proposal process and working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations


  • Solid understanding of the Federal Government's acquisition process


  • Communication and technical skills that allow you to develop relationships at all levels throughout various organizations and programs within an agency


  • Clearance Requirements:  Eligible for USG Clearance with additional accesses


  • Willingness to travel up to 50%
