Reports to the Director/Associate Director and the Practice Manager of Memorial Sports Medicine Institute. Also has a secondary reporting relationship to the athletic director at the assigned school. Optimizes the health, safety and general well-being of all student athletes participating in school system sanctioned athletics, during practice and contest times.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
The knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated below are normally acquired through the successful completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training or related field. Current American National Red Cross first-aid certification and license by the State of Indiana or demonstrated eligibility, with successful passing of certification by NATA as an A.T.C., within the first six months of employment is required. Prior experience in providing athletic training services to student athletes participating in contact sports is required.
Knowledge & Skills
Demonstrates knowledge of and competency in preventing, examining, and treating athletes' injuries.
Demonstrates analytical ability necessary to appropriately to assess the injured or ill athlete's condition and to respond accordingly.
Demonstrates good interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with a variety of individuals in various situations.
Requires ability to work independently, take initiative and be self-motivated.
Working Conditions
Work hours may vary; flexible work schedule required.
Works in an office environment and school site. Occasional outdoor activities.
May be required to travel to other locations (i.e. to provide athletic contest coverage).
Physical Demands
Requires the physical ability and stamina to perform the essential functions of the position.
