Agronomy Sales Manager

Are you an Agronomy Sales Manager ready to drive business growth by leading and directing a sales agronomist team? Are you ready for an integral role that leads business planning around team objectives? Do you take pride in your work and go the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction? Location: Cottage Grove, WI/SE WI area

Essential Responsibilities:


  • Planning and Budgeting

    • Write annual business plan for hub to drive growth and increase local net profit.

    • Drive and administer the business planning process with the sales agronomists.

    • Take ownership in the delivery of the revenue, gross margin, and local net of the budget



  • Leadership

    • Provide the overall sales leadership for the division.

    • Collaborate with product management to introduce new products, services, and technology and leading implementation.

    • Help recruit and hire staff and support career fair and other candidate networking events.



  • Supervision

    • Direct supervision of sales agronomists.

    • Monitor performance with Tableau and MARK and use to drive performance.

    • Review business plans and stay informed of business development and trends with current and prospective customers.

    • Perform annual and mid-year reviews.

    • Ensure that all company policies are being followed.



  • Profitability

    • Responsible for bottom-line profitability in the division.

    • Set and enforce margin structure for products and services.

    • Monitor sales and margins.

    • Approve any divergence from standard margin structure.



  • Value

    • Develop and drive the value created by cooperative.

    • Focus on the service and technology brought to the farm beyond the products we sell.



  • Customer Assignments

    • Manage the assignment of customers.

    • Ensure customer segmentation and capability of the sales agronomist are properly aligned.

    • Make changes in account assignment as necessary to maximize sales.



  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree in agronomy, business, or related field required.

  • Advanced education in agronomy, business, or related field preferred.

  • Minimum five years of people management and business planning.
