Reports to the Supervisor, Centralized Scheduling. Under general supervision of the Supervisor or Office Coordinator and according established policies and procedures, performs various clerical and patient related duties. Responsibilities include answering all incoming calls for physician offices of various specialties, accurately taking and relaying patient messages regarding patient care utilizing electronic medical records software, providing assistance in scheduling patient appointments, maintaining the facility's scheduling system and patient demographics, and performing daily routine clerical functions (typing, computer entry, etc).

Education and Experience
The knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated below are normally acquired though the successful completion of a high school diploma or equivalent. A minimum of two years of related experience (i.e., in a responsible position requiring well-developed customer service and organizational skills) in a healthcare or customer service setting is required. The ability to speak and write Spanish is required for interpreter. Medical Terminology preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
Requires moderate medical knowledge and demonstrates the ability to quickly assess a patient's symptoms to appropriately assist the patient in receiving suitable care to match their needs.
Demonstrates a high level of interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) necessary to interact effectively with a wide range of internal and external contacts in a professional, courteous, and friendly manner.
Understands and follows HIPAA regulations.
Requires knowledge of Allscripts ProPM practice management system and demonstrates proficiency in other basic computer systems (i.e., electronic medical records, database applications, word processing, data entry, etc.)
Requires good organizational skills and the ability to work effectively under general supervision, pay close attention to details accuracy, prioritize workload, perform multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines and requirements of the position.
Must be able to be effective in a fast paced, quality focused, noisy, multi-priority environment.
Requires knowledge of office procedures and proficient typing and computer skills to complete tasks in an accurate and efficient manner.
Requires analytical skills necessary to solve patient problems and interpret data.
