DESCRIPTION

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for an assistant research scientist. Under the direction of Professor Marco Rolandi, the assistant research scientist will design and perform experiments and or models, write papers and reports, and mentor undergraduate and graduate students. The successful candidates will be scientists and engineers ready to work in a multidisciplinary environment as part of a large team with skills including microfabrication, microfluidics, ionics, microscopy, biological control, and machine learning.

ACADEMIC TITLE
Assistant Research

SALARY
Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
A Ph.D. (or an equivalent foreign degree) in electrical and computer engineering, applied physics, applied mathematics, materials science and engineering, mechanical engineering, or closely related field at the time of application.

Initial appointment will be 100% for one year. Reappointment may be considered contingent upon the availability of work and appropriate funding.
