Position Description:
Mother Baby Nurse provides direct patient care in the Mother Baby setting. Provides assessment and planning for individualized patient care. Communicates with physicians about changes in patient's clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies. Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Performs general Nursing duties in all Maternal Child Health departments with adequate supervision. Participates in performance improvement activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Graduate of a school of Nursing. BSN is desirable.

Experience:

One or more years of recent Postpartum/Newborn Nursery experience preferred.

Licensure/Certifications:

* Current Utah Registered Nurse License or RN Compact license (required).

* Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification available after hire.

* American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (ACLS) and Certification within 12 months of hire.

* STABLE Certification, must obtain within 6 months from date of hire and then maintain certification.

* Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) certification preferred. Must obtain NRP certification within 1 year from date of hire and then maintain certification.

One or more years of recent Postpartum/Newborn Nursery experience preferred
