The Medical Technologist - Lab Supervisor is responsible for the following:

The overall technical and administrative operation of the laboratory Microbiology area. Performs and demonstrates proficiency and understanding in Microbiology, assists in instructing other personnel as assigned, and performs clinical laboratory tests and procedures which require the exercise of independent judgment and responsibility. Assures that the highest degree of quality patient care is maintained at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: Must meet education and/or work experience criteria

acceptable for technologist level designation as defined by CLIA and GDHR. LICENSURE/

CERTIFICATIONS: Medical Technologist or equivalent from an accrediting agency approved by GDHR (ASCP, HEW, NCA, AMT, AAB). Medical Technology certification eligible candidates must pass certification within 18 months of hire. EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 5 years as a technologist. Previous laboratory supervisory experience preferred. Demonstrated education, training, experience and technical abilities in the required areas of expertise. Interpersonal skills to successfully interact with all co-workers, staff, patients, patient families and vendors. Proficient computer skills, i.e. ability to utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, and other programs for writing procedures and creating reports.

Still Burn Center, the largest burn center in the country, which sees more than 3,000 patients annually. Patients are cared for in two dedicated trauma bays in our Emergency Department.
