Job Description:

The Director, Strategic Contracting and Pricing Analytics, is a key business partner working with Market Access, Commercial Leadership, and other internal strategic partners in the development and implementation of pricing and contracting strategies for inline, launch, and pipeline products to support brand planning, forecasting and ensuring profitable product access.

The position will lead a team providing a broad range of solutions and services across multiple payer channels (Commercial, Medicaid, Medicare Part D, Federal Accounts) and trade channels (Wholesaler, Specialty Pharmacy, Retail Pharmacy, Group Purchasing Organization, Specialty Distributor). The position will report to the Executive Director, Contracts and Pricing.

Key Responsibilities

Inform brand pricing by synthesizing customer, industry, market research, and competitive insights to guide in developing channel and franchise pricing strategies

-

Develop, manage, and maintain brand pricing and contracting strategies through product lifecycle and that align with optimal market performance

-

Work with internal stakeholders to develop strategies and recommendations to optimize pricing and contracting effectiveness, patient access and affordability, and competitive advantage subject to understanding the current and forecasted reimbursement environment

Collect, interpret, and disseminate internal and external pricing and contracting information to help internal customers, partners, and other stakeholders with timely decision-making, that aligns with brand and corporate opportunities and/or risks

Stay abreast of macro trends in the healthcare environment that potentially impact current and/or future product pricing, contracting and associated strategies across product portfolio

Design and implement contracting evaluation analytics for pricing and contract strategies and proposal development. Develop and implement performance metrics to support optimal pull-through of contracts

Monitors existing customer contracts through development and implementation of performance methodologies, tools, etc.; includes identifying and recommending opportunities for improvement

Support and guide development of direct report(s) in contracts and pricing expertise, organizational awareness, exposure and career development

Basic Qualifications, Knowledge and Abilities

-

Bachelor's degree in business/science/healthcare.Master's degree preferred

-

Minimum of 10 years of pharmaceutical payer and/or trade contracting experience

-

Previous experience in other functions within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or related industry is strongly preferred, e.g., marketing, field sales, field account management, health economics, government affairs, etc.

Knowledge/understanding of managed care trends, pricing, healthcare reimbursement, managed care customers and the distribution channels relevant to pharmaceutical/biotechnology organizations

Preferred Qualifications

-

Experience with specialty injectables, CNS products and product launches preferred

Ability to develop effective / collaborative working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.Ability to understand business requirements, propose solutions, gain alignment and execute

Analytical and problem-solving skills, a demonstrated ability to gather, understand, evaluate information from various sources
