Job Title: Engineering Technician- TEMP

Location: Chelmsford, MA

Support CTIP engineering activities such as design, test, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype mechanical systems, and quality issue resolution (in lab and occasionally in the field) in accordance with test plans and procedures. This position will be primarily supporting the CTI cryopumps & compressors product lines.

* Work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal test plan, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and troubleshooting functions, support lab safety audit, and do routine cleanup

* Support new product development activities which may require procuring and testing new hardware and equipment

* Maintain documentation on results, reports results to engineering, and may assist in determining methods or corrective actions to address performance gaps

* Assist product development engineers in the diagnosis and replication of product failures

* Use manufacturing, test, development or diagnostic equipment, including, but not limited to, vacuum pumps & manifolds, compressors, temperature/pressure gauges, flowmeters, hygrometers, leak detection apparatus, and other specialized test equipment

Under supervision, will participate in complex assignments which require a broad understanding of refrigerant blends, blend tuning, refrigerant charge and recovery, performance testing, foam insulation, load simulation, and the operation of compressors, valves, pressure vessels and heat exchangers. 3+ years hands-on experience with mixed gas refrigeration preferred. EPA Section 608 certification is highly desirable.

This role sits within Edwards Vacuum, the CTIP Product company in Chelmsford which is part of the newly formed Semi Chamber Solutions Division within Atlas Copco s Vacuum Technique business area.
