The Sr. Technology Manager for Package, Inland Marine & Ocean Marine will serve as a product owner between the business and the IT organization and will be responsible for managing the delivery teams for the following Lines of Business (Package, Boiler/Machinery, Inland Marine, Ocean Marine and the Multinational Book). The Sr. Tech Manager will lead the team in all project lifecycle functions and be responsible for the ultimate delivery of projects along with releases and production support. The Sr. Tech Manager will work closely with various stakeholder groups (underwriting, finance, compliance, etc.) The Sr. Tech Manager will educate the IT organization on the direction of the business and negotiate agreements and commitments between business unit(s) and IT from initial requirements to the development and final delivery along with ongoing production support. In addition, the Sr. Tech Manager will be responsible for ancillary duties around the portfolio such as adherence to operational KPIs and SLTs, SOX compliance, architecture building permits and related requests coming from senior leadership.

The Sr. Tech Manager is expected to own projects and take the lead in guiding business partners to thorough requirements and testing strategies, evaluating technical design for completeness, owning issue resolution, and leading acceptance testing and delivery through a team of subject matter experts reporting into the role. The Sr. Tech Manager will influence business customers on appropriate problem definition to allow for solution options and effective delivery solutions in collaboration with architecture by leveraging development and testing resources. The Sr. Tech Manager shall also ensure that the appropriate and adequate documentation of all work is drafted and maintained for business process documentation requirements such as process modeling and use cases.

The Sr. Tech Manager must ensure that the system is specified to the satisfaction of both the business and technical communities and to that point must demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between Chubb applications and flow of data between the systems. The Sr. Tech Manager must be aware of the impact of a project on other user groups and other IT applications and alert others as appropriate. To this end the Sr. Tech Manager owns and is responsible for the deliverable for their Lines of Business even when they collaborate with other IT groups for their delivery.

While current methodologies are more waterfall in nature, the Sr. Tech Manager must possess knowledge of Agile methodologies and be able to deliver projects using scrum or kanban methodologies by helping with discussions, providing guidance for the teams and facilitating ideations/sprints with business.

The Sr. Tech Manager must also build relationships with the platform software vendors as part of the facilitation and clarification duties described above when applicable.

Knowledge of the larger P&C insurance industry is required. Experience in leading teams through a transformation is important - specifically moving from legacy platforms to new platforms.  Knowledge of polcy administration systems - mainframe cobol systems and Duck Creek are core to the current future direction of the technology roadmap.

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.

Minimum 10 years of relevant technical or business work experience. Demonstrate clear understanding of business process disciplines. Insurance, Agile and PMO knowledge/experience is an important plus.
