Job Description:

Our U.S. Wealth Management Communications team is seeking a Communications and Media Relations associate to help us build awareness about the company's diversity & inclusion initiatives among our employees and the public through media coverage and internal communications. The ideal candidate will be a natural storyteller, with strong writing skills and experience in media relations for the wealth management or financial technology industry, with established contacts in media that target diverse audiences. We're looking for a team player who can also promote our messages with our employees by writing internal articles and executive communications.

The U.S. Wealth Management business is focused on helping investors achieve their long-term financial goals and comprised of the Chase wealth management business, J.P. Morgan Securities and You Invest - our digital investing platform. The combined business has ~$400 billion in Assets under Management and ~4,000 advisors who work out of 3,500 branches and 21 offices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work to proactively place favorable stories in wealth management trade publications, U.S. regional media, and media that targets a diverse audience about U.S. Wealth Management's services and products.
• Maintain relationships with reporters at outlets covering Black, LatinX and female business and finance issues.
• Research and prepare media responses, Q&As and press releases.
• Research and assist with media award applications for executives, advisors and products.
• Write internal communications, press releases, opinion editorials and social media copy.
• Media train and coach executives ahead of interviews and public appearances.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 2+ years of media relations experience, preferably at a leading asset manager or fintech firm, or in the financial practice at a top tier public relations agency.
• Solid knowledge of financial products and markets.
• Good relationships with the financial media.
• Solid track record and results in pitching relevant media.
• Excellent written, verbal and public speaking skills.
• Ability to coach regional business managers on how to deal with the press effectively.
