Job Description:

The vision of the Best Buy Data Science Teams is to provide clear, relevant, actionable, measurable, and trusted view of the customer to the enterprise that is acted upon to drive growth of the global enterprise.
As a key member of the Data Science – Advanced Analytics Team, your focus is on strengthening and accelerating the Audience Measurement capability. In this role, you will partner closely with Category Marketing, CRM Strategy, and the Marketing Operations team to make the Best Buy marketing and personalization program world class. The successful candidate will bring business acumen and well-honed analytical skills to address customer-related business questions.
You will be known for providing insightful, well crafted, data driven insights that solve business problems and reveal unknown opportunities to help us better serve our customers.
Key Responsibilities:1. Act as a primary Data Science point person for Best Buy’s Marketing Business partners2. Evangelize the benefits of insights and controlled testing by constantly engaging key stakeholders3. Scope business questions and identify where analytics can have the greatest impact4. Drive insights into the organization that lead to fact-based decision making5. Work cross functionally within the Data Science Center of Excellence team and with the broader Marketing teams to synthesize multiple sources of information as needed6. Perform moderate and advanced analytics as needed7. Maintain and / or create new reporting and analytics measurement infrastructure
Basic Qualifications:• 8 or more years of retail database analytics experience• 5 or more years of experience writing Structured Query Language • 5 or more years of experience using either Python, R, or SAS• 5 or more years of experience applying the scientific method / analytical techniques to solve business problems• Excellent written and oral communication skills• Ability to clearly communicate ideas and results to non-technical businesspeople, as well as Senior Leadership
Preferred Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree or greater in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or related Data Science field• 2 or more years of Unix scripting experience• Familiarity with consumer direct marketing programs or one to one marketing analytics• Strong client management skills and experience with end-to-end project management• Experience in a consumer insights function for a global consumer-oriented organization in retail, manufacturing, banking, insurance, or a related industry• Master's degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, business analytics or other quantitatively oriented degree• Experience in the estimation of multi-touch attribution• Skilled in application of ANOVA and multi-variate regression techniques• Experience in experimental design (DOE) and in D-optimal experimental designs• Natural curiosity when encountering unusual or unexpected results in work• Experienced in handling large data, reduction of dimensionality, working in cloud computing environment• Experience in Cloud ML (AWS, Azure, GCP, Snowflake)• Experience using reporting and dashboarding packages such as Tableau, Power BI, Micro-Strategy
