JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for compensation management of day-to-day operations and activities within assigned business units and global functions. This includes participation in and providing analytical and presentation support in the development, implementation, and administration of compensation programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compensation strategies support and reinforce business unit and corporate strategies. Partner with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, client groups, and other stakeholders to define compensation direction and provide expertise in solving complex business challenges. This position will report directly to the Sr. Manager, Compensation & People Analytics and will be based in Gaithersburg (CHQ) or Remote. Travel to other Emergent locations may be required up to 10% of the time.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Lead the implementation, communication, and administration of compensation programs and projects, including market pricing, salary administration, annual incentive, retention, and supplemental pay programs

- Build consultative and collaborative relationships with key partners in HR, Recruiting, Finance, and across business leadership

- Can be process owner as well as implementer as required

- Respond to compensation related requests from HR Business Partners, Recruiters, and Leaders and provide data to support strategic decision making

- Regularly assess and analyze both internal and external compensation practices and recommend improvements for competitiveness

- Support, maintain, and administer workforce and salary planning tools (SuccessFactors and Payfactors), including system development and implementation

- Manage and participate in job audits, analyses, governmental reporting and surveys

- Implement systems and processes in order to scale compensation practices and programs across the organization

- Provide detailed implementation plans, including dates and key activities and communication materials (e.g., talking points, FAQs) to HR Business Partners

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS

- Advanced knowledge of data analysis and delivery of data to leaders looking to make data driven decisions

- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to summarize difficult issues concisely as well as critically evaluate impact and significance

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and effectively collaborate with all levels of leadership and teams

- Strong project management skills; Prior experience as project lead or manager (preferably managing multiple complex projects and priorities simultaneously)

- Advanced user of Excel, Powerpoint, and other reporting tools

- Experienced with cloud-based analytical and data visualization tools (eg, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx

- Experience keeping most things highly confidential, managing difficult situations and escalating issues as needed.

- Exude professionalism, be pleasant to work with and provide exceptional customer service

- Bachelor's degree in business, Economics, Finance or related field

- 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in HR either as a generalist or as a member of a Center of Excellence such as Compensation project management

- Working knowledge of laws and regulations that impact Compensation

- Technical expertise in at least one area of Compensation (Broad-Based, Incentive, Sales, Executive)
