Overview:

* Security Officers I provide a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, volunteers, physicians and co-workers.

* Duties include, but are not limited to, making rounds of the medical center complex, investigating incidents, providing services as door locks, escorts, money transports, monitors alarm systems and provides in-service training.

* Performs related duties as assigned by Director/Manager or designee.

* Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications:

Education: Criminal Justice Degree or law enforcement, military police experience.
Licensure: Valid Class E Drivers License for Missouri (within 60 days of hire). Valid Class C Drivers License for Kansas.
Experience: None required
Certifications: Safe Training Class within 6 months of hire or previous training meeting the Safe class objectives. BLS Basic Life Support Within 3 Months Of Hire.
Other: Must be 21 yrs of age. Must be in excellent physical condition. Fit testing is required for new hires and annually thereafter. Equipment used: Expandable baton (ASP), handcuffs, leather restraints, soft restraints, jumper cables, air tank, AED, wheel lock, radios, dispatch program, security vehicles and emergency lights. Required on the job training will include, but not limited to SAFE, BLS, AED, CLAMP, GRASP, handcuffing, baton, MRI safety, use of force, HAZMAT first receiver, crisis prevention, tactical communications.
Preferred Certifications: IAHSS certification, Missouri Law Enforcement P.O.S.T. Certification.
