DESCRIPTION

The Department of Psychological & Brain Sciences at the University of California, Santa Barbara invites applications for a pool of qualified temporary lecturers (part-time) for anticipated openings throughout the year including Summer Session. Screening of applicants is ongoing and will continue as needed. The number of positions varies from quarter to quarter, depending on the needs of the department. Terms and conditions of employment are subject to UC policy and any appropriate collective bargaining agreement. Salary is based on UC's salary scales.

Areas of specialization include: Cognition, Perception, and Cognitive Neuroscience, Developmental and Evolutionary Psychology, Neuroscience and Behavior, and Social Psychology.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
The minimum requirement to be considered an applicant is the completion of all requirements for a PhD, except the dissertation, in Psychological and Brain Sciences or a closely related field at the time of application. Applicants with a Ph.D. are encouraged to apply.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
A demonstrated record of excellence and effectiveness in teaching at the university or college level as evidenced by positive teaching evaluations is required. Additionally, applicants should provide evidence of current expertise in the subject matter via the teaching statement and one sample syllabus.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience in the title of Lecturer, Teaching Associate, or an equivalent title.
