The Manager of our Cardiac Step Down floor provides care for a variety of patients including cardiac procedures, interventional and surgical cases. Our busy 39 bed unit is staffed with a high functioning team oriented group of caring clinical professionals with high morale that work well together. Our fast paced floor offers you the opportunity to work with a strong group of Nurses and a strong Management team that are committed to quality care.
* Participates in hospital or departmental performance improvement activities.
* Interviewing and hiring nursing staff.
* Scheduling nursing staff.
* Clinical resource for the Nursing Unit.
* Serves as an advocate for nursing staff.
* Evaluating staff performance.
* Discipline, counseling and staff development.
* Participates in financial management of the assigned unit.
* Participates in financial planning/budgeting for the assigned unit.
* Plans and conducts staff meetings.
* Plans and coordinates unit related in-services.
Medical City Plano is a full-service, 513-bed acute-care facility with more than 2,070 employees and over 1,466 physicians on staff, representing over 70 specialties and sub-specialties. Our main campus in the heart of Plano includes the main hospital and medical offices, an outpatient surgery center, a comprehensive cancer-treatment center, an emergency and Level 1 trauma center, a radiology/imaging center, a comprehensive cardiovascular program, the Center for Lifestyle Enhancement, The Bariatric Institute, Wound Care Center and complete women's and children's services including a high-risk antepartum unit and a Level 3 neonatal intensive-care unit.

QUALIFICATIONS
* LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION:
* Current TX RN license or RN Compact State License
* BLS (AHA) certification
* ACLS (AHA) certification within 6 months of hire.
* Advanced Nursing Certification within 6 months of hire in position.
* EDUCATION:
a. Bachelor of Science in Nursing or related field required from an accredited school.
* EXPERIENCE:
a. 3-5 years experience as a staff nurse in the clinical area.
b. Documented clinical knowledge and skills related to the assigned clinical practice area.
c. Previous management experience or demonstrated ability to serve in a leadership position.
