Overview

Our Internship Development program is designed to provide Interns with a real-world look at banking. An internship with Fulton Bank will provide you with valuable experience in a broad array of banking operations. Under close supervision with a designated supervisor, you will be responsible for observing Bank policies and procedures to acquire a working knowledge of a specific function/department of the Bank's operation and services.

Specific activities vary by assignment. A wide range of college majors are considered based on specific needs of the department such as: Accounting, Finance, Economics and General Business related majors. Students must have had at least one college level accounting course, preferably two.

In addition to this work, you will have the opportunity to engage with Fulton Bank in both personal and professional development, expand your network, and take part in a variety of activities throughout the summer. No matter the location of your internship, we will give you the tools to succeed in a real-world setting.

This role is temporary full-time role for the Summer, 2021.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties
Performs assigned duties in designated department to acquire knowledge of methods, procedures and standards required for successful performance.
- Reports on progress in internship program and feedback about program to a designated manager. Management feedback must indicate satisfactory progress to remain in Internship Program. Duration of program will vary.
- Spend time with related business lines to gain understanding of relationship to commercial banking and overall banking operations. Related areas to include consumer banking and commercial product partners such as Treasury Management, Leasing and Fulton Financial Advisors.
- Spend time with Commercial Credit department learning commercial banking loan policy and underwriting procedures. Attend weekly loan committees to observe approval process where all commercial lending decisions are made.
- Attend joint customer calls to business clients with Relationship Managers in Lancaster Market but could include time spent throughout the Central PA region.
- Attend other internal meetings such as monthly staff meeting and sales meetings. Attend community events and networking events with Relationship Managers.
- Assist Relationship Managers with portfolio management responsibilities and pre-call planning research for customer/prospect meetings.

Qualifications

Education
High School Diploma or the Equivalent Experience.
- Fulton Bank interns will be expected to have completed, or currently enrolled and in the process of completing, a 4 year college degree from an accredited college/university earning a degree majoring in Accounting, Finance, Economics and General Business related majors. Students must have had at least one college level accounting course, preferably two.
- Must have completed a minimum of one semester freshman year and at least 15+ credits
- If graduated must have been within the last 6 months

- Seeking rising junior or seniors.
- Strong academic performance is required. Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher as shown on a transcript. (Preferred)

- Experience requirements will match the needs of the assigned department
- Demonstrated/proven strong leadership, verbal and written communication, technical and interpersonal skills with preferred community involvement
- Self-starter with demonstrated initiative - able to handle multiple tasks and priorities.

- Prior related work experience is desired, including co-op/intern programs with a focus on assigned area. May or may not have had previous internship. (Preferred)
