Job Description:

The Operations Manager is responsible for planning and monitoring the major grant, foundation, and contracted projects of the Anne & Henry Zarrow School of Social Work. The Operations manager is part of a collaborative team that builds and sustains community based research projects in a variety areas of human services and will be responsible for the day-to-day operation support for the Ruth Knee Institute and the affiliated research centers. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring compliance with unit, college and university policies and procedures for grants and contracts management, maintaining budgets, supervising Graduate Research Assistants, communication, and other tasks as assigned by the Director.
The Ruth Knee Institute and affiliated research centers have over million in grants, contracts, subcontracts, and foundation resources. This position will also assist with planning and implementing short- and long-term goals for the Ruth Knee Institute and affiliated research centers in the Anne & Henry Zarrow School of Social Work

Required Education: Bachelor Degree or equivalent combination of education/job related experience, AND:


  • 18-36 months Research Program Administration

Skills:


  • Financial or accounting experience to include analysis, auditing and budgeting

  • Able to understand a chart of accounts and code entries to proper account

  • Ability to speak, read and write clear, concise English

  • Basic computer skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information

  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines

  • Able to communicate well and build rapport quickly with students, faculty and staff

  • Able to produce reports and complete work within deadlines

  • Strong initiative to solve problems

  • Able to work well with interdepartmental teams and initiatives

  • Must be able to perform basic data analysis

  • Able to effectively evaluate projects/programs and produce comprehensive reports

  • Must be able to create and deliver effective training presentations

Departmental Preferences:


  • Prefer Master's degree in a related field

  • Prefer one year management experience in more than one setting (non-profit and for profit)

  • Two years experience in social work or related non-profit setting

Supervision: 1-15 Graduate Research Students
