Description:

This position requires a thorough working knowledge of and ability to analyze credit reports, income documentation, assets, liabilities, property appraisals, and title reports, to insure loans meet company standards for sale into the secondary market. This person will identify, analyze, and balance transactional, borrower and property related risks and offsets to arrive at a loan decision of approval, suspense, counteroffer or denial.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


• Review loan application package using verified data in the loan submission package.


• Evaluate borrower's income relative to financial obligations.


• Review adequacy of credit quality and borrower qualifications.


• Access sources of funds and the security property.


• Analyze loan terms, LTV and ratios making sure they meet the program guidelines.


• Notify processor and loan officer of decision made. Approve loan in accordance with appropriate terms and conditions, counter-offers if the term does not meet company ending standards and guidelines, or deny the loan.


• Review and clears all conditions.


• Maintain current knowledge of all loan products and origination requirements.


• Ensure accuracy of loan disclosures and documentation.


• Ensure the quality of loans conforms to government regulation, company standards, and standards for sale to the secondary market.



. Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years Residential Mortgage Underwriting.


• College degree preferred but not required.


• Excellent understanding of secondary market guidelines (FNMA/FHLMC/GNMA).


• FHA/DE and VA LAPP/SAR certified.


• Effective analytical and mathematical skills.


• Strong understanding of mortgage process flow of 1-4 family, condo and co-op from processing to closing.


• Must have a strong understanding of multiple investor guidelines and regulatory compliance.


• Knowledge of mortgage insurance.


• Self-starter, self-reliant dependable ability to work within and meet specific time constraints..


• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
