SUMMARY

Responsible for leveraging statistical data to provide strategic guidance to the Sales Leadership team.  Draws insights from multiple data sources to make recommendations to the business on goals, incentives and how to best influence and partner with customers.  Accountable for framing business issues and designing the right analysis to find answers. Relied on to provide data based solutions to solve complex business problems and serve as the lead for sales reporting. This role works cross functionally with internal customers in Sales, Operations and Customer Development and is a member of the Sales Management team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  • Leverages critical thinking abilities to provide strategic insights through data, reports, and advanced analytics.

  • Uses data to create a business case that will be used to influence and present to key customers.

  • Gathers data from various sources (e.g., IRI, iDig, competitors) and translates into insights that are presented to the Sales Leadership team.

  • Builds narratives and strategic recommendations to support key decision-making.

  • Partners with Sales management to track incentives, goals, performance and makes suggestions for improvement.

  • Maintains a thorough understanding of overall business and uses knowledge to validate or invalidate business objectives, pricing and goals.

  • Coordinates with Customer Development team to ensure data and relevant materials are available to activate in local market.

  • Builds and grows relationships with internal teams to proactively identify business needs and address them using analytics.

  • Leverages knowledge and business acumen to develop relationships with internal and external managers at all levels. 

  • Uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex data and process issues in creative and effective ways.

  • Implement processes and build tools to make data access, extraction, and analysis more efficient.

  • Reviews and analyzes market, product performance, and other sales related data.

  • Provides regular updates on the performance of new Gallo brands in the marketplace and progress versus sales and distribution goals.

  • Uses technology to monitor performance, identify opportunities and make decisions about how to leverage the opportunities.  

  • Shares industry best practices and demonstrates entrepreneurial mindset to drive change.

  • Actively participates in customer facing events.

  • Fulfills ad-hoc requests for information from Sales management.

  • Maintains satisfactory attendance to include timeliness.

  • Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations. If accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring their understanding and compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


  • High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate.

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of prior Sales experience.

  • Gallo Sales Management experience.

  • Demonstrated strategic thinking abilities.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate data into business insights and recommendations.

  • Experience dealing with unstructured business issues and successfully leading teams to resolve issues.

  • Experience presenting analysis and business recommendations to Senior Management.

  • Ability to build clear and concise presentations, and communicate effectively with managers at all levels within the organization.

  • Ability to use learning agility to make decisions.

  • Ability to develop relationships with customers and present to them.

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and the ability to gather insights and draw conclusions from multiple data sources.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate at all levels.

  • Highly skilled in the use of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

  • Experience interpreting complex data and reports.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


  • Master’s degree plus 4 years of analytics, financial forecasting, or Gallo or Non-affiliated distributor sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility;

  • Demonstrated ability to develop innovative and impactful business reports from syndicated data.

  • Skilled in applying principles of logical or scientific thinking to business problems.

  • Experience with applying statistical methods to sales data (e.g., algorithms, modeling, analysis, etc.).

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to communicate with business and technical audiences at all levels.

  • Skilled in reading, analyzing and interpreting the most complex documents.

  • Experience responding effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
