PROJECT ENGINEER

Gray is currently seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our Industrial and Entertainment construction team in Anaheim, CA. This candidate should demonstrate outstanding organizational skills, great attention to detail and quality customer satisfaction. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following, but not limited to:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Review daily or weekly with Project Manager action item list.

Keep a prioritized task list of items to be completed.

Review daily with Superintendent action item list.

Collect hard copies and maintain electronic copies of SSSP, IIPP, GSA, tailgates, and safety meetings.

Communicate daily with Project Manager & Superintendent

Receive, review, confirm RFI’s received by subcontractors are acceptable prior to submitting to consultants.

Generate, maintain, process, update and close RFI’s in Timberline

Receive, review, and confirm submittals received by subcontractors are acceptable prior to submitting.

Generate, maintain, process, update, and close submittals in Timberline.

Distribute all RFI’s, submittals, bulletins and documentation that affect work to subcontractors and ensure they are receiving all project communication.

Generate, maintain and update material procurement log in coordination with project schedule.

Generate, maintain and update document & specification log.

Maintains progress photos file/ log or ensures superintendents are saving daily photos in the project folder.

Track documentation for project delays and items at risk.

Prepare all transmittals for deliverable items.

Read superintendent daily reports, 3-week schedules and project schedule.

Maintain and organize all project documentation and filing system

Generate, maintain and update punch list.

Collect all closeout documents from subcontractors organize and submit to owner at the end of the project.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES







LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety manuals, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with employees, customers, and clients.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Must have basic business mathematical skills, including ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or other forms.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  WORK ENVIRONMENT Generally, normal office environment where noise level is moderate and temperature/humidity is controlled. Overtime may be required.

 OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Must possess basic computer skills including the ability to utilize word processing, spreadsheet and e-mail applications.

Candidate should be Proficient in Timberline or similar project management and cost accounting software.


Required Experience:



EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of one (1) years directly related experience or minimum of two (2) years directly related experience in construction project supporting role.

(Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, etc.). Experience in the construction industry working directly for General Contractor is highly preferred.
