Accounting Analyst at PPG Industries in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania

Job Description:

As an Accounting Analyst you will be responsible for the planning, organizing, and management of general ledger accounting activities for USCA locations in support of Architectural Coatings, Trial Balances, GBFS teams, and business finance. You will have General Accounting and month-end closing responsibilities such as account analysis / account reconciliation, monthly journal entries including month-end accruals and month end reporting.

Key Responsibilities :

• Accounting and analysis/reconciliations for:
  
  
  • ad stock accounting, royalties, intangible assets, and various banking activities
  • marketing programs including but not limited to sales curve, color collateral / ad stock, and specific business entries
  • Accounting and analysis/reconciliations of bad debt & commission accounts .
  
  
• Journal entry preparation such as month-end entries and various others including but not limited to: VPP; PAP; Post Retirement; Rent; and miscellaneous business entries
• General accounting closing tasks
• Monthly Trend/Deviation analysis/Balance sheet review
• Trial balance submission for the 4 Architectural Coatings Trial Balances
• Support in updating annual internal controls narratives
• Support of annual internal and external audit requests

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or related field of study, is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of accounting-focused experience,
• Understanding of Generally accepted accounting principles
• Previous experience working in a Big 4 Accounting firm is strongly desired.
• Technical proficiency in Excel is required. Knowledge of Power BI and SAP is a plus.
