A Day in the Life
The Senior Project Manager will be a key member of the Medtronic Digital Surgery Commercial Program Management team working to commercialize the Touch Surgery Enterprise and DS1 Platform globally. This position will partner with the commercial (sales/marketing) and cross functional leaders to ensure successful commercial launch of portfolio of products from Digital Surgery business. This position will report to the Sr. Director, Global Program Management.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, prioritize, manage, develop, and coordinate activities of cross functional team members from different regions/countries to help commercialize the Digital Surgery portfolio of products
Coordinate multiple teams to execute concurrent, interdependent projects
Provide governance and oversight for the commercial readiness process
Track and monitor project progress to achieve commercialization stage deliverables and project milestones
Establish a communication schedule and communicate with stakeholders (including multiple teams, sites and disciplines) on a regular basis on the progress of the project
Work closely with regional and country commercial partners to understand, monitor and mitigate risk of commercialization in each country
Develop a broad understanding of the Medtronic Surgical Robotics business, products, and clinical applications and leverage the knowledge of others
Coordinate, track, proof and finalize project documents as needed with limited supervision
Collaborate with other Project Managers from the Surgical Robotics business to share best practices and lessons learned
Track the financials of the project with such things as forecasting, accruals, and actuals
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
Bachelors degree required
Minimum of 4 years of Project Management and Commercial experience or an advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years of Project Management and Commercial experience.
Nice to Have
Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA)
3+ years of experience with medical devices, aerospace, imaging technology or other highly technical regulated disciplines
Certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred
Experience with Microsoft suite of tools (Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint etc.)
Experience leading diverse and complex projects and programs
Demonstrated skills in managing priorities and making complex operational and business tradeoffs
Intimately familiar with project management concepts (PMI, schedule/cost/quality tradeoffs, schedule and resource planning, etc.)
Independent thinker with the ability to take both a commercial and operational view of complex situations
Experience working with multi-national teams
Ability to solve highly complex problems across multiple business functions
Strong written and oral communication skills in English
