Coordinating, planning, designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining training program to enhance employee development and to assure compliance with all federal, state and local regulations as well as company policies and procedures
Evaluate current needs of training program to determine if the program is aligned with customer specifications so that performance requirements are met and/or exceeded
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Conducts needs-analysis studies to identify skills and knowledge gaps that need to be addressed
Research and recommend new training methods
Lead and manage the development and implementation of training curriculum as well as accompanying tests and testing metrics
Administer the new-hire training program ensuring that new hires receive training related to their assigned function
Coordinate emergency response training and facility-wide drills
Coordinate off-site training activities for employees
Oversee COBRA testing for potential control room hires
Manage and coordinate simulator training for control room operators
Present training at different levels as appropriate to the constituency receiving the training
Recommend and coordinate revisions and updates of existing training programs
Periodically interact with employees at all levels (including technical working groups) to review, discuss and resolve training questions or inadequacies as required
Prepare all necessary training reports as required
Implement training mandates and ensure all training requirements are complete and recorded
Other duties as required
Position Requirements
Education:
B.S. degree AND/OR 5-7 years of training experience in a related field is preferred.
High School Diploma/GED with preferred experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
Experience/Specific knowledge:
Training Coordination and Project Management experience
Prior experience in writing, reviewing, implementing and training of written procedures
Knowledge of coordination of resources, curriculum development, exam writing and assessment of technical competency
Familiarly with pipelines, pumps, valves, compressors, and heavy equipment
Familiarity with reviewing and understanding drawings of equipment and processes
Competencies, Skills and Abilities:
Candidates with a background in facility operations preferred
Experience with various training methods, including on-the-job coaching, mentorship programs, and e-learning
Excellent writing, analytical and communication skills
Ability to multi-task with multiple priorities and time frames
Ability to develop a lesson/training plan, including any goals, outcomes, and objectives for lesson/training plans
Ability to test/evaluate performance to ensure competency is established and set goals/objectives are met
Ability to work independently and function with limited supervision
Ability to plan, organize and utilize project management skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
Knowledge of PC operations and related applications
Demonstrate ability to communicate clearly and concisely
Possess excellent presentation skills
Ability to conduct statistical analyses of data
Successful completion of background check, MVR, drug screen and TWIC requirements
Physical Demands:
Work extended days / hours and be available as needed
May include but are not limited to; working indoors, outdoors, with extended periods of sitting, standing or walking, ability to climb vertical access ladders and stairwells, use of hands to manipulate valves and tools and on occasion may be required to work at heights.
Working Conditions:
Work may occur in various environments including indoors and outdoors and in inclement weather conditions
Some travel may be required
