Job Description:

HHS is seeking qualified candidates for Director of Materials Management

This position reports to a Regional Vice President for leading Materials Resource Management programs and initiatives. Works closely with hospital's group purchasing organization (GPO) to ensure that financial objectives and service expectations are met and value maximized. The primary charge is to develop HHS's major supply initiatives and assist with their implementations.

JOB KNOWLEDGE; SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRE


  • Knowledge and experience with current healthcare industry supply chain management initiatives and programs

  • Proven proficiency in working with state-of-the-art materials management information and supply management systems, including e-commerce.

  • Ability to evaluate business opportunities, contracts and relationships required to maximize value from them

  • Experience in developing, managing, and leveraging GPO, manufacturer/distributor, and local vendor relationships. Proven experience and success in working with, and positively influencing, the medical and clinical staff

  • Executive abilities to achieve results through interpersonal skills and sound management ability

  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge of how to work with information technology staff to acquire and manipulate data required to ensure that economic decisions are made based on facts and sound analysis

  • Ability to synthesize data from disparate sources to identify operational and financial trends that result in proactive management of cost and new technology emergence challenges

  • Ability to develop and articulate program and policy objectives to achieve consensus understanding of why they are being implemented

  • Effective persuasive and communications skills, both verbal and in writing

  • Proven proficiency in computer applications such as spreadsheets, word processing, presentation software, and databases
