The Assistant General Manager, along with the General Manager, leads and manages membership sales generation and ensures all club operations are consistent with US Fitness standards. The Assistant General Manager also recruits, hires, and trains new membership consultants, as well as manages, motivates, and trains existing membership consultants. Assistant General Managers also may lead and manage another department such as housekeeping or front desk and will assist the General Manager in all club operations.

Provide oversight, leadership, and management to various departments within the club
Cultivate relationships and build team morale

Job Responsibilities:
Generate sales leads through walk-ins, telephone inquiries, and company sponsored outreach and promotion programs
Meet and surpass all personal sales goals and coach team members to do the same
Supervise lead generation process for sales teams
Motivate sales staff and monitor their production levels by using established protocols and sales systems
Accept membership inquiries and convert to appointments
Schedule and conduct prospect tours
Complete all membership paperwork in an accurate and timely manner
Complete all daily reports in an accurate and timely manner
Recruit point of sale referrals from every new member
Meet, greet, and work the floor during select times of day
Establish rapport and relationships with members via thank-you notes and guest passes
Enter new members in onboarding process and schedule new member orientation and other integration programs
Track leads, appointments, prospect interests, etc., in appropriate systems
Market club to organizations and corporations
Attend all required meetings and trainings and find ways to boost personal performance
Respond to all member questions or concerns within 48 hours
Understand and follow employee standards of conduct and ethics
Oversee at least one department within home club including hiring, training, managing, scheduling, coaching and disciplining employees within department
Keep staff files up to date
Model and uphold employee standards of conduct and ethics
Ensure compliance with club building, facilities, service, program, and emergency procedures
Act as Manager On Duty when required
Work early morning, evening, and weekend hours as necessary

Required Experience, Education, and Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in recreation, fitness, business management, or related field preferred
Two years’ experience in sales preferred
CPR/AED certification required
