About the Role:

We are seeking an individual with SAP and finance process experience to join our Financial Systems and Management Reporting function (FSMR) within the Global Controller's organization. Following Dow Jones' recent implementation of SAP S/4 HANA, this team's focus is on day-to-day system management supporting the Finance department, delivering a range of systems enhancement initiatives and developing our management reporting capabilities on the new platform. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mix of SAP-specific business process experience as well as SAP systems skills that emphasize the Business Planning & Consolidation (BPC) functionality. The Financial Systems Manager will serve as a liaison between the business and technology teams as we collaborate to enhance systems and operating procedures, manage configurations, implement management reporting solutions, develop best practice processes and deliver future enhancements.

You Will:
  • Manage the daily support, maintenance and continuous improvement of SAP environment.
  • Finance system solution design for SAP based initiatives and legacy system interfaces and collaborate with Dow Jones Technology and external consultants to deliver changes.
  • Provide expertise in SAP BPC real time consolidation functionality.
  • Share deep knowledge and experience from working with SAP solutions with other team members to accelerate post-go-live stabilization and future enhancements.
  • Provide input on and oversight of internal processes with respect to SAP master data, hierarchies and reporting.
  • Manage and satisfy SAP audit controls and pertinent SOX program requirements.
  • Lead in the development of SAP best practice principles to facilitate change management and end user adoption of new technologies and processes.
  • Support monthly financial close and forecasting processes as well as annual budget and long range planning cycles.
  • Support the broader Finance team with the delivery of all reporting deadlines by assisting with report writing, system interrogation queries, data corrections and other ad hoc business requirements.
  • Validate and document configurations, enhancements, development and underlying processes.
  • Coordinate with Finance users to understand functional requirements to identify and develop solutions.
  • Update production settings for cost center allocations, profit center allocations, and FX revaluation.


You Have:
  • 5-7 years minimum experience with SAP in a functional finance setting supporting Accounting and/or FP&A processes.
  • Project management experience and working knowledge of SDLC principles
  • SAP functional and configuration experience in S/4 HANA RTR, OTC, PTP, ATR and with an emphasis on Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC).
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Excel and other data management tools.
  • Highly self motivated, work ethic driven with keen attention to detail and exceptional customer orientation.
  • Demonstrated collaboration and business partnering capabilities.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to facilitate operating with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Expertise in Analysis for Office or similar reporting tools required.
  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field of study is required; an MBA or CPA / CMA certification is a plus. Relevant SAP certification(s) are highly desirable.
