If you are an OPERATIONS/PRODUCTION professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  Based in our DANBURY, CT location, you will....serve as Production Supervisor with the responsibility of the machining department of Engineered To Order/Customize To Order and R&D parts for all products supported in Branson Americas. You will also assist in the development and supervision of the employees, processes, and equipment used safely in the quality and cost-effective manufacturing of tooling, fixtures, and fabricated parts
 

AS PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR, YOU WILL: 


  • Manage the daily activities of the Machining department that include the integration of resources (manpower and equipment) to attain safe operations and the maximum levels of productivity, supporting optimal employee engagement.

  • Provide management to manufacturing personnel that includes work order cost accounting logging, non-conformance reporting and tracking, production throughput standardization and reporting, and employee coaching and development.

  • Responsible for the department’s quality levels. In the case of non-compliance, active participant in MRB (Material Review Board) and the development of corrective & preventative actions where required. Partner with maintenance team to support optimal level of equipment uptime and appropriate level of employee engagement in preventive maintenance.

  • A driver of continuous improvement, using Lean practices, in the place of work that support cost reduction initiatives and provide key input for capital equipment and general spending justifications.


  • Support inter-department collaboration, to include consultation for engineering and inspection personnel to aid in DFA/DFM activities and updating of routings/processing methods documentation to ensure integrity of the manufacturing process.

     


WHO YOU ARE:

You think about the whole system and convey clear performance expectations and follow up consistently. You seek ways to improve processes, from small tweaks to complete reengineering.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:





  • Prior supervisory experience in a highly skilled electro-mechanical manufacturing environment, preferably using multi-dimensional machining equipment up to 5-axis milling and/or multi-task turning.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering and tool and die. 

  • In-depth working knowledge of fabrication processes, material specification, and general industrial operations.

  • Knowledge of acoustics, with the ability to calculate pre-tune and final horn frequency adjustments.

  • Knowledge of Product Project Cost Estimating, Cost Analysis, Routings, B.O.M. (Bill of Material) Structuring.


  • Experience developing processes and work instructions.






 PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  

  • B.S. in an engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical Engineering

  • Prior experience as a leader or individual contributor in a quality, engineering, and/or materials planning team = well-rounded operational experience

  • Lean/Six Sigma, ASQ, and/or Project Management certification
