If you are a Mechanical Technician professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  Based in our Sidney, Ohio location, you will work in the Emerson laboratories in conjunction with product and research engineers to design, develop, and qualify compressors for residential and commercial air conditioning systems. To maintain our role as a global leader of compression solutions we continually seek talented and ambitious technicians to work in our engineering laboratories.  We are seeking a 1st shift laboratory technician to contribute to our growth and continued innovation.

AS A MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN, YOU WILL: 


  • Follow engineering laboratory test instructions to performance test compressors.

  • Set-up and install compressors and supporting compressor electronics for test purposes.

  • Operate laboratory test equipment including calorimeters, mass flow stands, data acquisition systems, and other measuring equipment used to acquire compressor compressor persormance characteristics.

  • Fabricate supporting test fixtures and controls required for non-standard tests.

  • Review test data for compliance with applicable test data standards.

  • Perform various tasks related to the upkeep of the lab.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • High School Diploma plus 2-3 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Basic mechanical, HVAC, and electrical/electronic skills.

  • Troubleshooting and problem solving skills.

  • Personal computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office programs 

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsoship will not be provided for this role.


 PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  

  • Certificate in HVAC, Associate degree in HVAC Technology, Associate Degree in Electro-Mechanical Technology or equivalent plus one (1) year of experience.
